The South San Independent School District formally introduced its new superintendent on Friday.
Rebecca Robinson got to meet with a few students, teachers and members of the community.
Robinson comes from Eagle Pass Independent School District, where she was the assistant superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
Robinson said the populations of the two school districts are very similar and so are the challenges.
However, one challenge Robinson will have to face is dealing with the $2.5 million that the district owes the state after the district was paid too much for its attendance numbers.
District officials announced earlier this week that they will pay the state back over the next two years without eliminating jobs.
The board of trustees formally approved Robinson on Wednesday. On Monday, she will start her new job.
