New emergency care center opens in New Braunfels

A new emergency center opened its doors Tuesday in response to the rapid population growth in New Braunfels.

Christus Santa Rosa Emergency Center-Creekside is the first free-standing emergency department in New Braunfels that provides around the clock emergency services.

Christus Santa Rosa built the $5.2 million facility because New Braunfels is a fast-growing area.

"This is one of the fastest growing counties right now in the state of Texas so expect this will help aide that growth in the community," said Dean Hobbs, CNO Christus Santa Rosa Hospital.

The center is located at 244 Creekside Crossing and currently has ten staff members, but more people are expected to be hired. Construction of the new facility began in June.
