SAN ANTONIO -

Nicole Post, 25, is facing charges connected to a case involving counterfeit checks.

San Antonio police said the checks contained the legitimate bank account number of an 81-year-old man, printed on checks with another person’s name.

They said Post then used the bogus checks to make purchases at several businesses, including a $296 purchase at a Target store.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that detectives obtained a license plate number for a vehicle Post was traveling in, as well as surveillance pictures from one of the businesses.

Post was on probation at the time, and her probation officer was able to identify her from the surveillance photo, the affidavit stated.

She was arrested Tuesday on a charge of fraudulent use of identifying information.
