IRVING, Texas (AP) — Police have fatally shot a 31-year-old man suspected of shooting and wounding another man at a swimming pool in the suburban Dallas apartment complex.
The incident happened about 1 a.m. Tuesday at an Irving apartment complex about a quarter-mile east of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. A police statement says officers shot and killed Rusty Edwards of Irving. That's after confronting the man in front of his apartment as he raised and pointed an assault-style rifle at the officers.
Police say the man was suspected of shooting another man in the shoulder at a swimming pool party after the victim told the gunman to take his gun home. The police statement says the man 31-year-old victim was in good condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. His identity wasn't released.
