Four Northeast San Antonio businesses have been hit by robbers, and now police are trying to determine if all of the cases are connected.
The first call to 911 came in around 8 p.m. Thursday from P&B Grocery in the 5900 block of Rittiman Road.
Soon, police had received calls from three other businesses within a short driving distance from that location -- a Chevron gas station at Montgomery Drive and Melbury Forest, as well as convenience stores in the 4400 block of Rittiman and 6000 block of O’Connor Road. All of those businesses had been robbed too, police said.
In some cases, the robber was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and either black or red bandanna.
Witnesses also told detectives they saw the robber getting into a cream colored Ford vehicle, police said.
As of 5 a.m. Friday, detectives said they were still unsure whether all of the cases were connected.
They said they planned to review surveillance video and other information to make that determination.
San Antonio Police said Thursday night was an especially busy time for robberies.
They said an unusually high number of businesses throughout the city had been targeted during that time frame.
