Parker in, Duncan out of All-Star Game
Parker selected to 4th All-Star Game as West reserve
Tony Parker was selected to his fourth All-Star Game while Tim Duncan's remarkable streak of 13 straight all-star nods comes to an end.
Parker was named as a West reserve for the Feb. 26 game in Orlando. Parker is averaging 18.9 points and a career-best 7.7 assists this season.
Those averages are slightly up since Manu Ginobili broke his hand on Jan. 2. Parker's performance through 27 games has propelled the Spurs to 19-8 record, second best in the Western Conference.
Tim Duncan was not named to the West All-Star squad for the first time in his career.
The omission also ends Duncan's streak of 12 consecutive All-Star Game starts that was the second longest in NBA history.
The other West reserves are LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland; Marc Gasol, Grizzlies; Kevin Love, Timberwolves; Dirk Nowitzki, Mavericks; Russell Westbrook, Thunder; Steve Nash, Suns.
