Parts of an attic and roof collapsed after a Northwest Side home went up in flames early Monday morning.

The fire started around 2:20 a.m. at a home in the 300 block of East Skyview near Loop 410 and Bandera Road, fire officials said.

Fire crews arrived to heavy flames shooting through the roof and the back of the home.

Fire officials say no one was home at the time and the arson unit is investigating the cause.

Damage is estimated at $80,000.

Officials were trying to locate the homeowner early Monday and interviewing neighbors.

Neighbors reported the fire in to firefighters when they heard dogs barking.
