Paul De Luna accused of posing as Halliburton employee for free motel rooms
San Antonio police: Paul De Luna, 40, facing theft charge
Paul De Luna, 40, is accused of posing as a Halliburton Corporation employee and convincing management at a local La Quinta Inn & Suites that the company would pay for his room.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, De Luna checked into the La Quinta Inn on Blum Road on July 4 using a different name.
The affidavit stated that about two weeks later, a manager at the motel became suspicious and confronted him about payment.
The manager told police that he discovered then that De Luna had used a phony name, and that he did not work for Halliburton Corporation as he told employees when he checked in, the affidavit stated.
De Luna left the motel on July 20, the affidavit stated.
Police said the motel manager later identified De Luna in a lineup. De Luna was arrested Thursday on a charge of theft.
