Photo surfaces of Spurs stars Tim Duncan, Tony Parker pointing toy guns at Joey Crawford look-alike
Photo allegedly taken during recent Halloween party
A photo of Tim Duncan and Tony Parker has surfaced on several national websites showing the Spurs stars pointing fake guns at a man dressed as NBA referee Joey Crawford during a Halloween party.
The photo was originally posted in an online thread on Reddit.com over the weekend, and then made the rounds on websites such as Sportsgrid.com, MSN.com and Deadspin.com.
According to Sportsgrid.com, the photo was apparently taken during a party thrown by Stephen Jackson. The authenticity of the picture has not been confirmed.
In April 2007, Duncan and Crawford had one of the more memorable player-referee incidents when Crawford ejected Duncan during a regular season game for laughing on the bench.
At Monday morning's Spurs practice, head coach Gregg Popovich said he had not seen the picture and did not comment on it after hearing about it.
Spurs guard Manu Ginobili was at that party and spoke about the picture after practice.
"What I know is it was Halloween. If somebody dressed as Pop was there, I probably would have done the same with my sword as Zorro," said Ginobili. "I'm not concerned and I don't think it's something to take so serious but who knows what's going to happen."
The NBA had not commented on the picture by late afternoon Monday.
