Police: Girl's video of alleged molester is 'valuable evidence'
Enrique Morales charged with indecency with a child
A video recording that San Antonio police said shows Enrique Morales, 53, exposing himself to a teenage girl is being called valuable evidence for detectives.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the 13-year-old girl made an outcry at her middle school Wednesday, saying Morales has been molesting her for the past four years. In the affidavit, the girl claimed that he has been exposing himself to her, fondling her and performing sex acts in front of her.
The affidavit stated that the girl used a cell phone last Saturday to secretly record Morales in the act.
She told police she borrowed the phone from a friend because she feared that if she used her own phone, Morales would go through it and discover the recording, the affidavit stated.
The girl told investigators that Morales had told her he was going to take a bath, then when he began walking around nude, she set the phone to record, the affidavit said.
“It appears that our victim was just tired of what was going on,” said Officer Matthew Porter, spokesman for the San Antonio Police Department. “She took it upon herself to take the video and turn it over to officers."
Porter said it is unusual for detectives to have that type of evidence in a case like this. He said the video will come in handy in the investigation.
“When they're provided this type of evidence and they show that evidence to our suspects, it's hard for them to deny what they've done,” said Porter.
The affidavit stated that Morales admitted to exposing himself to the girl, but refused to talk about other allegations with detectives. He was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of indecency with a child.
