HOUSTON (AP) — Police say only one of the three people killed in a shooting outside a Houston night club this week was targeted with the gunfire, which also wounded two others.
Investigators Thursday identified the target as 23-year-old Coy Thompson and said he had received threats on his life after a domestic dispute on Sunday.
Police say Thompson, also known as "Poppa C," had also been involved in a November nightclub shooting that killed one.
The early Wednesday morning shooting also killed 30-year-old Erica Rochelle Dotson and 31-year-old Carlos Durell Dorsey. Also wounded were 37-year-old Willie Watkins and 31-year-old Frazier Thompson, a Houston rapper known as Trae Tha Truth.
Police said people were leaving the night club where the rapper had performed when gunfire erupted.
