Police: Wife fires shots as husband holds child
Lisa Guerra-Romo arrested days after shooting
A woman was arrested in San Antonio Wednesday for firing several gun shots at her husband while he was holding their young child in his arms, according to authorities.
U.S. Marshals said Lisa Guerra-Romo, 34, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force without incident.
Police said Guerra-Romo and her husband were involved in a verbal argument that turned violent on Saturday, December 1.
According to authorities, Guerra-Romo allegedly retrieved a gun and fired several shots as her husband held their child. Police said Guerra-Romo fled on foot before they could arrive.
Despite multiple shots being fired, the husband was only struck once in the leg, but the child was unharmed, authorities said.
Guerra-Romo was a fugitive wanted for committing aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering a child. Arrest warrants were sought by the San Antonio Police Department and the Family Violence Unit.
Leading up to the arrest, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force was contacted by the San Antonio Police Department for assistance in locating and apprehending Guerra-Romo, authorities said.
Officers said they found out Guerra-Romo was hiding out with an associate in a house located in the 9600 block of Dover Ridge. Officers said they initiated surveillance and then observed the home owner leaving the residence. The officers made contact with the home owner and confirmed that Guerra-Romo was inside the residence, authorities said. That's when officers entered the residence and arrested Guerra-Romo.
Authorities said Guerra-Romo is currently being held in Bexar County Jail awaiting appearance before the Magistrate Judge.
