Police are investigating a woman's death after her body was found near the Guadalupe River Thursday.

Kerrville Officers said they were dispatched to the 800 block of Water Street around 12:30 p.m. after someone found a woman’s body.

According to police, the woman was 53-year-old Jennifer Koplos of Johnson City.

Koplos was found in a wooded area on the north side of the river, investigators said.

Justice of the Peace William Ragsdale was notified and responded to the location.

Judge Ragsdale has ordered an autopsy to be conducted, authorities said.

Authorities said Koplos’ family had reported her missing to Blanco County Law Enforcement on January 9th around 8:57pm.

Koplos’ family was notified of the death by law enforcement in Blanco County.

Kerrville Funeral Home was notified and attended to the care of the deceased.

An investigation into the cause of death is being conducted by the Kerrville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.
