An alert clerk led to the arrest of two men who are accused of making counterfeit money inside a Northwest San Antonio hotel room.

San Antonio police were called to the Red Roof Inn in the 6800 block of Northwest Loop 410 early Tuesday morning after the front desk clerk said a man attempted to make change using a counterfeit bill.

Police went to the suspects' room and found a high-tech printer along with other materials used to make counterfeit money.

Police said one of the suspects attempted to escape through a window, but was caught. The other suspect was also taken into custody.

Federal authorities were called to assist with the investigation. Both men face charges for counterfeiting, police said. Their names have not been released.
