SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police arrested a man who led them on a brief, high-speed chase Friday afternoon, after he was reportedly driving the wrong way on a local street.

The chase started near Fredericksburg Road and Callaghan, and continued until police cornered the driver at a shopping center on the 3600 block of Fredericksburg Road.

Police say the driver pulled up to a parking space within the shopping center, but refused to exit his vehicle.  Police then broke his driver’s side window to remove him.

During the chase, the driver hit a police SUV, but no one was injured.

The driver was arrested on charges of evading arrest, as well as numerous other traffic violations.

Police believe he was also driving under the influence.
