Police investigate baby's death

1 year old found dead at Austin Hwy. motel

SAN ANTONIO -

Police responding to another call found themselves investigating the death of a baby boy.

Officers answered a call to a motel in the 1100 block of Austin Hwy. just before 10 p.m. Friday.

They say a man approached and said a baby boy was not breathing.

Police say they found the baby and transported him the Northeast Baptist, but staff there pronounced the child dead.

The cause of the baby's death is not yet known.

The medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine what led to the baby's death.
