San Antonio Police and deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department are searching for three suspects believed to be involved in a drive-by shooting Sunday that sent one person to the hospital.
The shooting happened just before 3 o’clock at a shopping center in the 6200 block of Binz Engleman.
According to police three black males in their late twenties or early thirties walked out of a convenience store in the shopping center and got into a car.
“One of them came out and we’ve got him on tape where he has a gun in his hand,” said Sheriff Jim Hutmacher.
Hutmacher said the men drove by the shopping center and fired multiple shots towards the Old Soldier Bar, 6220 Binz Engleman. He said shots were fired from the parking lot and from the street.
“We don’t know if it was a 40 cal. or 9 mil., but one gentlemen was leaning against the wall in the Old Soldiers Club and was hit in the right shoulder.”
The victim was transported to the San Antonio Military Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police were unable to describe the vehicle, but said the car had temporary paper license plates.
Hutmacher said investigators believe they know who the suspects are.
“At least two of the three suspects are known by the officers that work this area,” he said. “They’re going to verify that and get it back to the appropriate people to ID them.”
