Homeless veterans and their families were treated to a holiday party Monday by the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
Local volunteers doled out gifts and holiday cards.
Community members expressed gratitude for the veterans while singing Christmas carols together over cake and refreshments.
Gifts arrived via the Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle, which just returned from aiding with Hurricane Sandy relief on the East Coast.
Workers for the American Red Cross Program, Services to the Armed Forces, were also on hand documenting stories and experiences for the Veteran's History Project.
