SAN ANTONIO -

A 25 year-old woman was likely murdered by her boyfriend because she had just left him, according to a police report released Tuesday.

Jonathan Garcia, 21, is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend, Tammy Ramirez, in front of her parents home Monday night.

Garcia fled the scene initially, but was captured a short time later at an apartment complex.

Ramirez had decided to leave Garcia, according to the report, because he was abusive.

Her father confirmed that Tuesday afternoon, and said the abuse was obvious.

“She would have black eyes, scratches, and her ear was even busted once,” said Gilbert De La Zerda.

Ramirez had three children.

None were injured in the shooting.
