Robbery suspect who wore wig, scarf arrested by San Antonio police
Amand Nelson, 32, arrested in connection with two armed-robberies
A suspected serial robber who San Antonio police said would wear a wig and a scarf during his crimes was arrested Monday evening.
Amand Nelson, 32, was arrested in connection with two armed robberies and San Antonio police investigators said he could face more charges.
The first robbery was reported Jan. 6 and the latest on Sunday. In both cases, police say he wore a wig and a scarf then showed a semi-automatic handgun while demanding money from a cash register.
"Whenever we're dealing with a serial robber, we understand in this business that whenever a suspect hits one location, he's comfortable, he's going to hit again," said Sgt. Daniel Alonzo with the SAPD Robbery Task Force. "It's great to know that we're able to get a repeater off the streets."
Police have not said how many other robberies they believe Nelson was involved in.
