A San Antonio mother is desperate to find out what happened to her daughter more than a year after she was murdered.
Maria Victoria Serna, 29, was found shot to death in Waco.
Her mother, Rosemary Hernandez, said it was on the Fourth of July last year that she just knew her daughter was in danger.
She said Serna took off to Waco with her boyfriend, but never made it back home.
"I told her don't go," said Hernandez. "I know who you are with. Don't get in the car with him because it doesn't make me comfortable. I just feel something."
Two days later, Hernandez got a call from the Waco Police Department. She said she knew it couldn't be good and that her heart just dropped.
"She told me that they found Vicky (Maria Victoria Serna) in the park," said Hernandez. "And, they had hit her with something over the head."
Hernandez said Waco investigators later told her that her daughter had been shot in the back of the head, but other than that, they didn't' have any leads.
And, to this day, Hernandez said they still don't have any answers, which has been difficult for everyone, but especially for her daughter's two children, Monique and Carlitos.
"It's been over a year," said Hernandez. "And, we don't want for this to turn out to be a cold case that you put in the back room and forget about because these kids won't forget about it."
Hernandez said she is just hoping now that someone in the San Antonio area may know something about her daughter's murder.
She's asking anyone with any information on this crime to contact the Waco Police Department at 254-750-7500.
