SAN ANTONIO -

A 25-year-old woman has been found guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter, who died four years ago from head trauma.

Andrisela Ng was convicted of murder Monday in a San Antonio courtroom. Authorities said her 2-year-old daughter, Gianna Espinoza, bruised and bloodied when she was found unresponsive on the family's couch in December 2008.

The San Antonio Express-News reports that Ng allegedly told a hospital nurse that Gianna had scratched herself. But prosecutors say Gianna died from multiple hits to her head.

It was Ng's second time on trial after jurors during her first trial failed to reach a verdict — with just one juror out of 12 holding out.

This time, the jury convicted Ng after about two hours of deliberations.
