Police say a 16-year-old San Antonio girl has died in a boating accident near Aransas Pass.

Aransas Pass Police Chief Eric Blanchard told the San Antonio Express-News Saturday that he believes the 16-year-old girl was with her family Friday morning when she fell out of the boat and made contact with the propeller.

She was taken to a local hospital where she later died. Her name had not been released.

Police and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's marine division are investigation the accident.
