SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio firefighters battled a pair of fires late Wednesday into Thursday morning.

The first fire sparked around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at a two-story home in the 2700 block of Pebble Breeze.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor, but put the fire out quickly.

Investigators determined the fire started inside a chimney. No one was injured, fire officials said.

Another fire broke out just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex in the 10000 block of Oasis.

Fire crews said the fire started in an apartment unit on the second floor near a closet.

Damages were minimal and no one was injured, fire officials said. Arson investigators are looking into a cause.
