Police arrested a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars in watches from a Houston home and then attempting to pawn them in San Antonio.

Bryce Cornel Walker, 40, is charged with theft $20,000- $100,000.

According to an arrest affidavit, Walker stole the watches on April 15 during a home burglary in Houston. The affidavit stated the watches are valued at more than $44,000.

The affidavit stated Walker tried to sell them weeks later at a pawn shop located in the 8500 block of McCullough, but the clerk had previously received a report about the watches and suspected they were stolen.

The clerk notified police and attempted to keep Walker in the store, but Walker grabbed the watches and drove off before officers arrived.

A store employee was able to write down Walker's license plate number and Walker was later identified in a lineup, the affidavit stated.
