A father was gunned down by his own son Thursday night, after an argument during a family barbecue.

Police said Daniel Goodwin, 41, was shot twice and killed by his son Darius Walker, 20.

The group was cooking in the backyard when an argument broke out, according to a police affidavit.

The pair went inside their apartment, where the fight continued.

Walker allegedly went into a closet and got a gun, confronting his father with it.

He fired the gun twice at Goodwin, killing him, police said.

Neighbors said Goodwin was a good man who worked hard.

“He was a real good man, loved his kids, loved his grandkids, and they meant the world to him,” said Jose Garcia, who lives upstairs from the family.

Walker faces murder charges, and is in Bexar County Jail.
