SAN ANTONIO -

This weekend's rain did not stop the Memorial Festival and Car Show Saturday afternoon.

The second annual event is hosted by the San Antonio Police Officers Association.

A friendly game of tug of war between police officers, some cute, furry animals and a whole lot more all made for a great day of fun but, the good times at the event had a serious purpose.

"It's to benefit the families of fallen officers that were killed in the line of duty," said Deputy Chief Janae Florance.

The money raised Saturday will go toward sending survivors' families to Washington, D.C.

There they will get the chance to see their loved one's name on the national law enforcement officer's memorial.

In its second year, officers say the event has already grown in size and seen higher attendance.

Florance said they hope to keep growing and raising money for families of fallen officers.
