The driver of Chevy Suburban crashed into a South Side restaurant Tuesday night.

Police say the accident happened in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 2700 block of Roosevelt around 9 p.m.

The driver was apparently trying to straighten up the vehicle in the parking spot, and hit the gas instead of the brake, police said.

No one was sitting in the area affected by the crash. Damage estimates were unknown.
