Police took a man into custody Thursday evening after a brief stand-off on the Southwest Side.

Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Spaatz around 4 p.m. and began to speak to a man who was visibly upset.

Officer noticed the man was armed and evacuated everyone from the home, then called for negotiators.

SWAT was also called and parts of the neighborhood were blocked off. A short time later, police were able to take the suspect into custody without incident.

There is no word what charges the suspect would face or why he became upset.
