Sam Hurd arrested again in San Antonio
Feds: former Chicago Bears WR failed drug test
Former NFL wide receiver Sam Hurd was arrested again Thursday at a San Antonio YMCA for violating his bond, the US Marshals Service said.
Hurd, 27, violated his bond by submitting a urine sample that tested positive for marijuana, federal officials said. Hurd was previously released on a $100,000 cash bond pending his October 9 court date.
The former Chicago Bears star was arrested in December in the parking lot of a suburban Chicago restaurant on cocaine possession and distribution charges. A warrant for his arrest after he allegedly failed the drug test was issued in Dallas this week.
Hurd was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at a YMCA near downtown San Antonio while he was visiting a family member.
