San Antonio Area Foundation partnering with Ghawi family

The San Antonio Area Foundation is partnering with the family of Jessica Ghawi, the San Antonio native killed in the Colorado movie theater shooting last month.

The Ghawi family established the fund in memory of Jessica, an aspiring sports journalist. The fund will provide scholarships to women seeking to study sports journalism and broadcasting.

"We went ahead and partnered with the San Antonio Area Foundation. After their 47 years of experience with the community they have assets available to us and the knowledge that we feel that will help us sustain this scholarship fun for my sister," Jessica's brother, Jordan Ghawi said.

The San Antonio Area Foundation will administer the scholarship funding and the awarding of scholarships as well.
