San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro announced he's going to pursue his love of writing by putting pen to paper, and writing an autobiography.
Mayor Castro inked a book deal with New York-based Little, Brown and Co. publisher.
Mayor Castro's memoir will detail his San Antonio family life and upbringing, and include his mother's story as well.
"The time feels right now, and for the longest time when I was growing up in school I loved to write and then I got away from that for a long time. I'm looking into delving into my family's history and relating that to others my family story is an American dream story," Mayor Castro said.
Mayor Castro says he has not decided on a title yet. The autobiography will be published in English and Spanish, and is expected to be on bookshelves by the 2014 midterm elections.
