San Antonio Water System to host community meetings to discuss rate increase

The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) will give the public the opportunity Wednesday night to speak out about a proposed rate increase of 9.9 percent for 2013.
That would be an average of $4.93 more a month.
The water company said it needs the increase in revenue to help deal with sewer clogs and infrastructure repairs.
A community meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at SAWS Headquarters, Tower 2, located at 2800 US 281 N.
Another meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Westfall Library, located at 6111 Rosedale Ct.
Several more meetings are planned through November and December.
