SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio firefighters battled a two-alarm apartment fire Tuesday night that sent two people to the hospital and displaced a few families.

Fire crews were called to the apartment complex in the 9400 block of Fredericksburg Road around 10:30 p.m.

Firefighters said heavy flames were shooting through the roof of the 3-story complex upon arrival.

According to fire officials, eight units were damaged and two people had to be transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. Red Cross was assisting those displace families.
