The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department is extending swim season at four area pools.

Four pools -- Heritage, 1423 Ellison Drive; Lady Bird Johnson, 10700 Nacogdoches; South Side Lions, 3100 Hiawatha; and, Woodlawn, 1100 Cincinnati -- will remain open through October 27.

Below in the pool schedule:

• August 21 - September 3
  Lap swimming: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.
  Open swimming: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 - 7 p.m.
  Labor Day: Pools open from 1 - 7 p.m. for open swimming
• September 4 - October 27
  Lap swimming: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.
  Open swimming: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 - 7 p.m.
