A motorcyclist was killed after he crashed into a stalled vehicle on the northwest side Wednesday afternoon.
The motorcyclist, identified as 20-year-old Adolfo Carrera, collided with a Ford Escort stalled in the far lane of Interstate 10 near Vance Jackson.
Police said Carrera was ejected from his motorcycle and landed in the adjacent lane, where he was struck by a Ford Escape.
He was taken to University Hospital and died as a result of his injuries.
Witnesses said that the motorcyclist appeared to be looking at a cell phone or other electronic device just prior to striking the Ford Escort.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash, investigators said.
