San Antonio police arrested Jesse Pugh, 35, in connection with the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Eddie Saenz at the Caltex Mobile Home Park in the 4000 block of Southwest Military Drive.
San Antonio police said investigators found a 9mm gun in Pugh's home after his wife allowed them to search it. "That gun, along with a shell casing recovered at the scene, was taken to the crime lab," said San Antonio police officer Matthew Porter. "It came back that the shell casing at the scene had been fired from the gun officers found at the suspect's house."
Jesse Pugh originally denied knowing many details about the fatal shooting and reportedly called 911 on Monday to report the slaying. Pugh told KSAT 12 on Monday that police were targeting him unnecessarily.
"They put me in a room and tortured me like I'm the one who did it," said Pugh on Monday. "I'm the only one who helped this kid."
San Antonio police officers found Eddie Saenz laying beside his SUV Monday morning. Saenz had been shot once in the head, San Antonio police said.
Witnesses told police they saw Saenz and another man argue over an air conditioner before the shooting. Saenz had recently been evicted from the park and had loaded up his vehicle to leave.
San Antonio police said Pugh will be charged with murder.
