San Antonio police arrest carjacking suspect after crash on Academic Court

A carjacking suspect was arrested after San Antonio police said he crashed the stolen truck during a short chase in the 500 block of Academic Court.

The alleged carjacking occurred Tuesday evening when the suspect met a man with the intention of buying a television.

San Antonio police said the carjacking suspect pulled out a gun, stole the man's money and his truck.

San Antonio police said a witness was able to get the license plate number of the suspect's accomplice and track the stolen truck to an apartment complex.

After a short chase, San Antonio police said the carjacking suspect crashed on Academic Court and was taken into custody.

San Antonio police said the carjacking suspect was expected to be charged with aggravated robbery. His name has not been released.
