Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 reward for information that leads to arrest
The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers have requested the public's help to identify a man who robbed a bank in Leon Springs.
Police said the man pictured here is suspected in the Saturday morning robbery of the Compass bank on I-10 West near Boerne Stage Road.
Employees told police the man walked into the bank carrying a briefcase and approached a teller. The teller said the man opened the briefcase, pointed a gun at her, and told her to look inside. She told police there was a note taped inside the case that read, "This is a robbery."
She said the man demanded money and told her there was another man with a rifle waiting outside the bank. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the man ran out the front door. He escaped in a tan truck.
According to employees, the man had been inside the bank the day before the robbery, posing as a customer.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. The number to call is 210-224-STOP (7867). Callers may remain anonymous.
