SAN ANTONIO -

The San Antonio Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a local convenience store.

The robbery occurred at the Trinity Food Mart at 202 S. Trinity on April 14.

Police said the man walked up to the cash counter pointing a handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register.

A witness who was in the store at the time told police he went to the back of the store because he was afraid the suspect would shoot him.

The suspect took money out of the cash tray and got away.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man who is 20 to 30 years old. He's about 5-feet 11-inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. He was wearing a gray jacket, khaki pants and a red Budweiser cap with a surgical mask over his face.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (7867).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect responsible for this crime.
