San Antonio police seek suspect in car fire slaying of Santos T. Garcia, III
Crime Stoppers, Family offer up to $10,000 in reward money for information that leads to arrest
The family of Santos T. Garcia, 33, is looking for your help to find his killer.
The body of Garcia was found in a burning car on the city’s east side. His wife, Yvette, hopes an extra $5,000 added to the $5,000 Crime Stoppers reward will entice someone who knows something about the murder to come forward.
“Maybe if we offered more money maybe something will come of this and someone will say I know something or I know someone who does," said Yvette Garcia.
Homicide investigators say Garcia was burned beyond recognition that the medical examiner couldn’t even tell her how he was killed.
She says he served in the army for eight years and did one tour in Iraq. He was an upstanding citizen who not only was a great husband but their 13-year-old daughter’s best friend, “they did everything together and now she doesn’t have her best friend anymore.”
So far, police haven’t arrested anyone for Garcia’s murder. All investigators know was that he was burned inside the cab of his truck, in an area that his family has no connection to.
“We have no idea why he was in the area. Did he know someone over there? We don’t know,” said Garcia.
