Maritza Guevara born 1 minute after midnight, eight weeks premature
A San Antonio couple rang in the new year with a special delivery, the city's first baby of 2013.
Tiny Maritza Guevara was was born approximately 1 minute past midnight. She entered the world weighing 4 pounds, 8 ounces and measuring 17 inches.
Maritza's mother, Maria, said she was celebrating her birthday on Monday, Dec. 31, when she went into labor.
Maritza's parents said their new bundle of joy was born eight weeks premature. They expected her around Valentine's Day.
Maritza's family will receive a prize package that includes everything from diapers to a car seat.
She was also given a $10,000 scholarship from University of the Incarnate Word.
