SAN MARCOS, Texas -

San Marcos police have identified the victim of an early morning car wreck as Sarah Louise Campbell, 22.

According to a San Marcos police spokeswoman Melissa Millecam, an officer discovered Campbell's car in a ditch near State Highway 123 and DeZavala Drive in San Marcos around 3:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Campbell was transported to Central Texas Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators said Campbell's vehicle left the roadway before DeZavala Drive, struck a traffic light pole, and continued southbound where it struck a concrete culvert off the roadway.

According to San Marcos police, this is the 11th traffic fatality in San Marcos in 2012.
