Search for possible bank suspect turns into standoff

SAN ANTONIO -

The search for a suspected bank robber ended in a tense situation Friday afternoon for the residents of a Northeast side apartment complex.

Police said they tracked a suspect wanted for multiple bank robberies over the last month to the  Dublin Apartments on the 3900 block of Thousand Oaks late Friday afternoon.

SWAT officers attempted to engage the suspect for several hours before breaking into the unit and discovering there was no one inside.

None of the residents of the complex were allowed in or out until police determine it was safe.

There were no injuries reported and police officials are still searching for that suspected bank robber.
