Rocky Mountain National Park rescuers scale back search for missing Texas man
ESTES PARK, Colo. (AP) — Rescue teams have scaled back their search for a Texas man believed to be missing in Rocky Mountain National Park, citing concerns over dangerous winter conditions and a lack of clues.
A park spokeswoman said Monday rangers will continue to check out leads in the Bear Lake region where 39-year-old Troy Green of San Antonio was last seen.
The search was launched Friday after Green failed to show up for a conference in Denver, a day after he went hiking.
Rangers heard from two witnesses who said they spoke with Green on Thursday, but they did not see where he went. Witnesses said he seemed to be prepared for winter weather with snow pants, a down jacket, gloves and a face mask.
