SAN ANTONIO -

A man was hospitalized after police said he was shot by a security guard at a Northwest Side bar.

Shots were fired around 2:30 a.m. Friday at the G Bar on 410 and Ingram Road.

The security guard told officers there was a disturbance in the bar and a man pulled out a gun and fired in his direction. The guard returned fire and hit the man in the leg.

Police said the man who was shot apparently had two weapons on him and tried to hide the magazines by throwing them in the back of a pickup truck.

He was taken to University Hospital and is expected to be OK.

The security guard and the shooting victim were both detained and questioned. Police have not said what charges would be filed.
