SAN ANTONIO -

A serial robbery spree on the city’s north side is now over, San Antonio police said Friday, after the man they said was responsible was taken into custody.

Derrick Johnson, 25, was arrested and booked on three counts of robbery Friday, with four more counts likely to be added to the list in coming days.

Police said Johnson targeted businesses like Subway and Family Dollar, showing a gun and making threats before taking off with cash.

Johnson was arrested Friday morning after detectives followed him since early Thursday. A traffic stop led to Johnson being pulled over while driving Friday.

Police said he confessed shortly after that. Johnson has been booked into the Bexar County Jail.
