San Antonio police have arrested 33-year-old Shirley Sorrell in connection with the theft of jewelry stolen from the mother of a San Antonio police sergeant.
An arrest affidavit stated Sorrell was employed by a home healthcare service to care for the victim's husband.
The victim returned home Aug. 30 and noticed jewelry missing from her bathroom, the affidavit stated.
A day later, San Antonio police investigators discovered a woman, later identified as Sorrell, had pawned at least one of the items, a James Avery charm bracelet.
The charms on the bracelet were positively identified by the victim and included two charms that are SAPD badges, which match the badge numbers of the victim's son.
The affidavit stated Sorrell used her Texas ID card and police arrested her this week. Sorrell has been charged with felony theft.
