Police thought they had a car accident to investigate, but now they have a shooting as well.

They say a wounded man driving on I-10 crashed near Hildebrand early Sunday morning.

He lost control and hit a wall, then veered across four lanes of traffic and struck the other wall, witnesses told police.

But when they went to help him they found he'd been shot.

Police say they aren't getting much info from the man since they say he refused to talk about who shot him and why.

EMS took the man to University Hospital in critical condition.
