Shots fired after San Antonio nightclub fight spills into parking lot
San Antonio police investigate shooting, crash outside The Falls nightclub
Shots were fired outside The Falls nightclub Wednesday morning after a fight reportedly spilled into the parking lot.
According to a San Antonio police report, witnesses told police a fight between two groups of men broke out inside the restroom of the nightclub on Bitters Road and Highway 281.
Police said the both parties were kicked out of the club and witnesses reported hearing gunshots a short time later.
The police report stated one of the groups involved in the fight opened fire on the other, and the men inside a vehicle being fired upon fled the scene.
As they drove away, they crashed into a nightclub employee's parked vehicle and were followed by another witness.
Police tracked those men down to the Blanco and Loop 410 area and determined one of them may have been grazed by a bullet in the hip. The men told police they were involved in the fight and were confronted by the shooter as they were getting into their vehicle. The injured victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. The police report did not state if the shooter was arrested or what charges may be filed against either party involved in the fight.
The parking lot outside The Falls has been the site of several incidents, including a November 2011 fatal hit and run crash and a stabbing last February.
